Access to great genetics that can provide life changing medicine should not be behind a “paywall” or only accessible to those with means. Introducing the 100% pay what you can or want to model of business. Better off then some, kick in to help others…times tough, pay what you can.
100% no “means testing”
Pricing
It simply is pay what you can. There is a minimum which covers packaging, seed production, shipping, marketing, web site/hosting etc…you get the idea. The minimum is based off the seed production for that run but will be in the ballpark of $15-$20 per 10 pack.
Anything you pay above the minimum will go directly to compensating for those that may not be able to normally afford the cultivar otherwise.
Why this model of pricing?
Without using some form of “means testing”, which eats a ton of resources and getting up in people’s personal business, this is the best solution I could come up with that could help people without being intrusive. Will it work, I don’t know but it’s worth trying. I have met far too many folks over the years that got actual quality of life improvements with access to quality genetics and that is something I am able to provide in this trying world.
How will this be profitable, I still don’t get it?
If everyone pays the minimum it keeps the lights on and the operation running and offering the next drop. What it doesn’t provide for is wages, that is the risk I am taking in this endeavour. I know that most folks will pay what they can and I am fine with that, this isn’t about profit it is all about accessibility.
